KAS (CARBAMIDO-AMMIUM MIXTURE).

Liquid nitrogen fertilizer – an aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate and urea in a ratio of 1:1, which does not contain free ammonia. This is the only fertilizer that contains three forms of nitrogen at the same time: ammonia (25%), nitrate (25%) and amide (50%).

All forms of nitrogen in the fertilizer are non-volatile and therefore can be applied superficially without being buried in the soil. Nitrate and ammonium forms of nitrogen are directly available to plants. The nitrate form of nitrogen is mobile and can penetrate into the lower layers of the soil. Ammonium, on the contrary, is immobile: it is absorbed by soil colloids and can be used by plant roots located in the surface layers of the soil, or it turns into nitrate form. The amide form of nitrogen in the soil is gradually transformed into ammonia, and later into nitrate (ammonification and nitrification processes), and thus the prolonged action of fertilizers is achieved, and plants are provided with nitrogen nutrition throughout the growing season.

Fertilizers are produced by the industry in three grades: KAS-28, 30 and 32 (% N).

The last grade, KAS-32, is the most widespread among users.

KAS is a universal, high-tech fertilizer, it can be applied at all times of the year and therefore has advantages over other nitrogen fertilizers:

  • almost no nitrogen losses (if applied correctly)
  • used both for the main application and for top dressing of crops in all phases of vegetation.
  • the most effective nitrogen fertilizer in connection with global warming and frequent droughts.
  • the most universal fertilizer for top dressing, especially in late terms, allows (during drought) to increase not only the quality, but also the amount of the crop.
  • stops the negative effect of viruses.
  • more uniform application and distribution in the soil compared to solid (granulated) nitrogen fertilizers.

Due to the absence of free ammonia in the composition of KAS, it does not evaporate into the atmosphere during application, however, the presence of the ammonium form makes it necessary to cover minimally in conditions of elevated temperatures and lack of precipitation after application.

UFA can be used:

  • in autumn – for the main tillage;
  • for fertilizing winter crops – root and after vegetation restoration;
  • in spring – for pre-sowing tillage;
  • during the vegetation period of agricultural crops for root and foliar fertilization;
  • after harvesting crops – to improve the mineralization of crop residues (immediately after applying UFA – the residues must be incorporated into the soil).
